Christmas is always a season of joy, reflection, and surprises. This year’s Christmas service at Fountain of Peace Baptist Church was no exception, as we experienced an unforgettable moment that left the congregation in awe and gratitude.
While ministering on the topic “Immanuel” during our Christmas service, we received a most pleasant surprise—the arrival of the Convention President, Rev’d Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji, and his amiable wife. Their visit, completely unannounced, was a true honor for our church.
The couple was warmly ushered into the sanctuary by a few of our Deacons, who had been alerted of the presence of our August visitors. The entire congregation rose to their feet, giving a standing ovation to welcome the number one family of the Nigerian Baptist Convention.
It was indeed a memorable service, held in our newly dedicated church auditorium, filled with worship, celebration, and an atmosphere of divine presence.
To God Be the Glory!
A Timely Takeaway
The unexpected visit of Rev’d Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji reminds us of a deeper truth: the coming of Christ will be just like that—sudden, without prior notice. Let us remain expectant and prepared at all times for His glorious appearance.
Appreciation
On behalf of the entire church, I extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone who played a role in welcoming our distinguished guests. Your efforts in honoring our Convention leader and his wife did not go unnoticed. May the good Lord reward and honor you abundantly.
May the joy of Christmas continue to fill our hearts as we reflect on the gift of Immanuel—God with us.
God bless you all!
